The book deals with the psyche of left-handed children and with “the soul that can speak with animals”.
Left-handedness and right-handedness are not only manifestations of motor dominance of one hemisphere of the human brain but appear to be linked with certain personal characteristics and typical behavioral patterns that are different in left-handers and right-handers. In the book various behavioral features and impulses for action often observed in left-handed persons are itemized, analyzed, and documented by sample cases. A comparison with right-handers demonstrates the contrast.
Dr. Johanna Barbara Sattler, psychologist and licensed psychotherapist, the director of the München-based First Consulting and Information Center for Left-handers and Converted Left-handers in Germany, is addressing both the parents of left-handed children and the left-handers themselves. She also wishes to make pedagogs and therapists aware of the differences between left-handers and right-handers regarding their respective ways of reacting and thinking. The book wants to pave the way to better understanding especially for children, but also for adults where these are facing problems regarding their handedness. One chapter is dedicated to situations in partnerships between a left-hander and a right-hander.
The interspersed stories from animal and human life in virgin nature written by Dr. Ivo-Kurt Cizek afford a novel sphere for children to identify themselves. They are finding an instrument helping them to see their own ways to react, to see what happens, and to understand them from a different aspect.
