Left-handedness and right-handedness are not only manifestations of motor dominance of one hemisphere of the human brain but appear to be linked with certain personal characteristics and typical behavioral patterns that are different in left-handers and right-handers. In the book various behavioral features and impulses for action often observed in left-handed persons are itemized, analyzed, and documented by sample cases. A comparison with right-handers demonstrates the contrast.<\/p>\n
Dr. Johanna Barbara Sattler, psychologist and licensed psychotherapist, the director of the M\u00fcnchen-based First Consulting and Information Center for Left-handers and Converted Left-handers in Germany, is addressing both the parents of left-handed children and the left-handers themselves. She also wishes to make pedagogs and therapists aware of the differences between left-handers and right-handers regarding their respective ways of reacting and thinking. The book wants to pave the way to better understanding especially for children, but also for adults where these are facing problems regarding their handedness. One chapter is dedicated to situations in partnerships between a left-hander and a right-hander.<\/p>\n
